Sleeping Should Be Easy

If you’re carrying twins, you might want to take a look at Sleeping Should Be Easy. Along with telling you all of her secrets about handling two babies at once, Nina shares other motherhood stories – the most important one being how to get enough sleep.

No matter how many kids you have, or how old they are, getting enough sleep is always a challenge. But it’s even more important when you’re caring for two little ones.

“Most new parents are sleep deprived, but when you have twins, that deprivation is multiplied,” says Nina. “You not only don’t get a good night’s sleep, you also don’t get much chance to nap during the day. It’s important to find ways to get some rest, even if it’s just a few minutes here and there.”

Nina has some great tips for getting enough sleep when you’re caring for twins. First, she recommends taking advantage of any help that’s offered. “If someone offers to watch the twins for an hour so you can take a nap, take them up on it!” she says.

It’s also important to get your partner involved in the nighttime routine. “Having two babies means there’s twice as much work to be done,” says Nina. “So it’s important to divide and conquer. One parent can handle bedtime while the other gets some much-needed rest.”

Finally, Nina says it’s important to accept that you might not be getting as much sleep as you’d like. “It’s tempting to try to fight sleep deprivation by drinking coffee or energy drinks,” she says. “But in the long run, that’s just going to make things worse. Just accept that you might be tired for a while, and focus on taking care of your twins.”

With these tips, you can get the sleep you need to care for your twins – and yourself!
